Customs Service plans to procure from Iona Technologies of Cambridge,
MA on a non-competitive basis Orbix software licenses with annual
support and maintenance. The items are as follows: Orbix 2.1c for
OS/390 9672 R64 (Model Group 80) with annual support and maintenance;
Orbix 2.1c for OS/390 (Model Group 80) Developmental System with annual
support and maintenance; OrbixWEB NT/95 3.0c Part S1330; OrbixWEB
Annual Support Part s1329; 25 Set License Runtimes. The software
licenses must cross platform and share objects and data in an object
oriented environment. The software must be an MVS product that allows
the user to invoke distributed objects across NT, Solaris, and MVS
platforms. NO SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE FOR THIS REQUIREMENT.
Responsible sources are invited to identify their interest and
capability to respond to this requirement. All responsible sources are
invited to submit an affimative response inclusive of pricing
information, a price quotation, published pricelists, past performance
references, software licensing documents, technical product
literature, etc. which would indicate that your offered software meets
the Government requirement. Responses should be mailed referencing ID#
CS-98-00681 to the address set forth in this synopsis. Questions
pertaining to this requirement can be directed to the Contracting
Officer at Internet Email address Mark.Weinstein@Customs.sprint.com.
Responses which will be considered by the U.S. Customs Service must be
received at the address set forth in this synopsis NOT LATER THAN 3:00
PM EDT JUNE 15, 1998 or they will not be considered. An affirmative
response shall consist of one (1) original copy of the response and one
(1) xerographic copy of the response. Telephone, facsimile, or e-mail
responses will not be honored. If affirmative response(s) are not
received by JUNE 15, 1998, then this requirement will be negotiated on
a sole source basis with Iona Technologies, Inc. Y2K clauses shall be
included as part of any contract resulting from this acquisition.
