COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JUNE 9,1998 PSA#2112REQUEST FOR COMMENT The following is a Request for Comment (RFC), a
synopsis of information for planning purposes, and does not constitute
a Request for Proposal (RFP). The Federal Bureau of Prisons is in the
process of revising the 1992 Statement of Work (SOW) for residential
Community Corrections Center Services this fiscal year. To effectively
proceed with this effort, industry comment is solicited on this
initiative. The purpose of this RFC is to afford industry an
opportunity to discuss any perceived issues regarding the initiative
and to allow the Government an opportunity to receive the benefit of
industry comment. The government's purpose in providing this
opportunity for industry comment is to identify potential problem areas
and provide recommendations to enhance the success of the proposed
initiative. The government believes industry feedback is important, and
is receptive to any and all ideas which would limit unnecessary
constraining requirements, realize a cost savings, or highlight
potential technical problem areas associated with initiative (SOW
revision). Comments provided should be viewed as an opportunity to
improve the current 1992 SOW for residential Community Corrections
Center services. Comments, supportive or critical, are earnestly
solicited. Comments received from industry may or may not be used to
revise the current SOW and resulting solicitation document. Replies
will be separate from, and have no bearing on, subsequent evaluation of
proposals submitted in response to any resulting, formal RFP. The
government will not critique a potential offeror's comments and the RFC
should not be used by an offeror to market their products. The
government does not intend to pay for the information solicited and
will not recognize any costs associated with submission of the RFC.
Responses to this RFC are due no later than July 15, 1998, they can be
submitted to either the Point of Contact (POC), in writing, at the
above address or by Internet to William L. Willingham at
wwillingham@bop.gov or Rita Hardy-Thompson at rhthompson@bop.gov or

like to schedule a meeting to discuss your ideas and suggestions, feel
free to call them to set up an appointment in their Washington, D.C.
office. No more than two organizational representatives can be present
during this meeting. Telephone responses will be accepted, however, no
