this project involves the construction of a 3,296 SF addition to
Building No. 3, Classroom, which includes an automotive repair shop,
two classrooms, toilet rough-in, office, storage, parking and paving.
Additional work in Building No. 3 includes the conversion of the
existing automotive shop into a paint shop and the rehabilitation of
the existing masonry and carpentry shops. In Building No. 14,
Multipurpose, the work consists of the installation ofa ducted return
air system which includes a new ceiling, and the patching, repair and
painting of existing walls. Alternate No. 1, includes paving and
grading at area adjacent to Building No. 2, Cafeteria. Alternate No. 2,
includes paving, drainage and grading at area adjacent to Building No.
7, Warehouse, and Alternate No. 3, includes the fit out of the new
toilet room in Building No. 3 at the Batesville Job Corps Center
located in Batesville, Mississippi. Construction time from NTP to
substantial completion for the work is 32 weeks. The estimated cost
range of construction is between $250,000 to $500,000. Plans and
specifications will be available on or about June 29, 1998 ONLY from
the office of Askew Nixon Ferguson Architects, Inc., 1500 Union Avenue,

Collect calls will not be accepted. It is emphasized that requests for
plans and specifications shall be directed to the A/E firm listed
above to ensure proper handling of requests. All requests must be in
writing. Requests will be answered on a first-come, first-serve basis
until supplies are exhausted. For For requests made after the supply is
exhausted, the Contracting Officer may determine whether payment of a
fee is warranted. The non-refundable fee shall not exceed the actual
cost of duplication of the IFB documents, plus COD charges. A Pre-bid
walk-through is scheduled for July 14, 1998, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
Bid opening date is August 19, 1998, at 2:00 p.m. local time. This
acquisition is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. The SIC Code is 1542.
