U.S. Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center has a requirement for two
(2) each Centrifugal Pump Units, NSN 4320-01-154-5448, Fairbanks Morse
Pump Corporation P/N 5972-3IN, Drawing Number 99K3M-G. These Pumps are
installed on the Fire Fighting Systems installed onboard the 378' Coast
Guard Cutters. It is the Governments belief that only Fairbanks Morse
Pump Corporation, and/or their authorized dealers, can supply these
Pumps. However, other potential sources can submit information
concerning their capability to supply these Pumps. Concerns that
respond to this notice must fully demonstrate their capability by
submitting the following information: (1) Data tha the offered Pumps
have been satisfactorily manufactured for the Government or the
Original Equipment Manufacturer which includes complete and current
engineering data to demonstrate the accepability of the offered Pump
(i.e., physical, functional, and serviceability characteristics); and
(2) Data that the required Pump has been previously provided to the
Government or the Original Equipment Manufacturer. THE DEADLINE FOR
SUBMISSION OF THIS INFORMATION IS 18 JUNE 1998. INFORMATION RECEIVED
AFTER THIS DEADLINE SHALL NOT BE CONSIDERED. This synopsis is issued
pursuant to FAR 5.207(e)(3) and TAM 1205.207. See Numbered Notes 22 and
26. The following Notice is for informational purposes for Minority,
Women-Owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of
Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business
Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to assist minority, women-owned, and
disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working
capital assistance for transportation related contracts. Loans are
available under the DOT Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime
interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum
