The EPA intends to renew their software license subscriptions and support for Metabolite and ISIS (Integrated Scientific Information System) software programs with MDL Information Systems Inc. Metabolite is a complete information system containing key information about metabolic transformations of xenobiotic compounds from their literature and a registration system to input proprietary metabolism studies. ISIS provides a family of products including ISIS/Host, ISIS/Developer and ISIS/Chemistry that supports the registration, management, retrieval, display and analysis of all types of scientific and chemical information. Metabolite/Registrar is licensed to EPA for unlimited users and ISIS/Host/Developer/Chemistry for up to 49 custom seats. MDL Information Systems Inc. produces and licenses both Metabolite and ISIS, and EPA believes that only MDL is capable of satisfying EPA's software support and licensing renewal requirements. The software license and support renewal period for both products is from 06/30/98 through 04/30/99. No solicitation is available. Therefore, respondents to this announcement possessing the ability to provide the software licensing and support stated above must submit written notification to the attention of Mark Hopkins, referencing W8-2085, that fully demonstrates their ability to satisfy the requirements above. If no affirmative responses are received within 15 days from the publication date of this synopsis, the Contracting Officer will proceed with this acquisition to MDL Information Systems.
