dgarner@tapo.eustis.army.mil, dgarner@tapo.eustis.army.mil. The U.S
Army Special Operations Command intends to issue a solicitation for a
firm-fixed-price contract with ITT to design a basic radiation
attenuating device (BRAD) mount for the 47E aircraft. Required delivery
is 17 July 1998 for preliminary data and prototype. The purpose of this
design effort is to move the MH47E ALQ-162 forward antenna, that was to
be installed on the radome tip, to an alternative location and reduce
the forward AN/ALQ-162 antenna radio frequency (RF) energy to an
acceptable level. The BRAD mount will be filled with radar absorbing
materials to house the ALQ-162 antenna and isolate its radiation from
the APR-39A(V)1 antennas that are located further aft at the 10 and 2
o'clock positions. The proposed contract action is for supplies or
services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with
only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. The intended source
is ITT Avionics, 100 Kingsland Road, Clifton, NJ. ITT possess
engineering expertise and technical data to develop the BRAD mount in
a timely manner. Interested persons may identify themselves to the
contracting officer. This is not a request for competitive proposals.
However, all proposals received within 15 days after date of
publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. See
