58 -- REPLACEMENT OF THE ALR-20A RECEIVING SYSTEM POC Tom Robertson, 912-926-6726 This is NOT a presolicitation notice pursuant to FAR Part 5, but is a MARKET SURVEY to identify sources with the capability to provide a replacement system for the ALR-20A Receiving System on the B-52 Aircraft. While the ALR-20A system has proven operationally successful in the past, it is believed that other solutions exist today that could provide improved capability and value for the Air Force. The replacement solution may take the form of: 1) a form-fit-function replacement; 2) an existing system, with or without modification; 3) development of a new system. This survey is to determine the availability of commercial items and the capability of potential sources pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10. This notice does not constitute an Invitation for Bid or Request for Proposal and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The Government will not reimburse contractors for any cost incurred for their participation in this survey. A Draft Statement of Objective (SOO),Draft Performance Specification, and a Contractor Capability Survey are available on the web via the WR-ALC Small Business Office Homepage http://www.robins.af.mil/orgs/alc/smallbusiness/alr20a.htm. The extent of foreign participation or level of security clearance required to receive a solicitation has not yet been determined. Therefore, participation in this survey may not necessarily result in your company being able to participate in the solicitation.
