U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Mid-Pacific Region, Attention: MP-3810, 2800 Cottage Way, Room E-2711, Sacramento, CA 95825-1898

74 -- COPIERS OR PRINTERS DUE 062698 POC Jerry Mehring, (916) 978-5152 The Bureau of Reclamation, Mid-Pacific Region is seeking contractors that are interested in submitting concept proposals for equipment, supplies (excluding and including paper), and maintenance to produce copies through our Local Area Network (LAN) or from an original hard copy format. At this time Reclamation has four sites within the greater Sacramento, California area -- 2800 Cottage Way, 1825 Bell Street, and 3310 El Camino Ave. However, there is potential application at our other Regional Area Offices (Fresno, Tracy, Willows, and Redding, California, Klamath Falls, Oregon, and Carson City, Nevada). Proposals are to be structured for a 3 and 5 year program, with terms that consider allowances for additional units, removal of units, relocation of units, and upgrade of units. It is not our intention to purchase or take ownership of the equipment at the end of the program period, however proposals should include such a contingency, especially for lower volume use locations. Program options shouldconsider cost estimates based on minimum monthly and yearly usage. Proposals must include a list of sites where offered equipment is now in use, may be visited, and their point-of-contact name and phone number. The following two lists contain minimum requirements and present location/annual use: (A) Minimum Requirements List: This listing is provided as an expression of our needs as we know them today with our limited knowledge of available technology. Interested providers should not limit their proposals to these items if they believe other choices may provide better document service and cost options. (1) Majority of the units to produce 30 to 50 copies per minute and have the ability to scan hard copies into an electronic file for producing immediate copies and transmission to an employee's workstation directory. (2) Two of the units to produce 70 or more copies per minute, have a variety of finishing abilities, and override controls/system for managing employee job submittals at the unit location. (3) Color unit to produce 6 or more copies per minute, with point of location abilities to change colors and shades of colors. (4) Units to operate using digital imaging technology. (5) Consideration of light-lens imaging technology and non-LAN connect ability will be considered for low-volume (50,000 annual copies or less) use locations. (6) Items 1 through 4 shall be compatible with our present Local Area Network and software systems as follows: (a) NT 4.0 and Win 3.1, (b) 10 base T connection, (c) Ethernet, w/NetWare 4.11 compliant software. (B) Location/Annual Use List: (1) Location -- 3310 El Camino, Annual Use Range 75,000 and 110,000; (2) 1825 Bell Street, 115,000, 50,000, and 75,000 (These 3 units will be reolocated between May and August 1999 to the 2800 Cottage Way location.); (3) 2800 Cottage Way, 10,000 to 50,000 (4 units), 50,001 to 75,000 (4 units), 75,001 to 100,000 (1 unit), 250,000 to 300,000 (2 units), 350,000 to 500,000 (2 units, 2-2.5 million (2 units), 75,000 Color (1 unit). Questions on thissubject may be directed to Jerry Mehring, telephone (916) 978-5152. Proposals must be received by June 26, 1998. (0160)
