703-704-3001 The U.S. Army CECOM Night Vision and Electronic Sensors
Directorate (NVESD) has been tasked by the Office of the Assistant
Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Low Intensity Conflict,
(ASD (SO/LIC)) to research the availability of commercial technologies
that increase the safety of individuals. Therefore, the US Army CECOM
Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate (NVESD) is seeking
information on commercially available equipment to protect or increase
the safety of individuals against the blast and fragment effects of
explosive devices. Products that are flexible, modular, and lightweight
protective gear for shielding head, eyes, face, neck, chest, back,
arms, groin, legs and feet are of interest. Enhanced body armor, boots,
vests, helmets, visors, shields, etc., are also of interest.
International participation is encouraged. All information is due no
later than 4 PM EDT 30 days after publication of the CBD notice.
Contractor format is acceptable. The Government does not intend to
reimburse contractors for any expenses related to providing this
information. Informers should submit one original and one copy to
NVESD, Countermine Division, ATTN: AMSEL-RD-NV-CD-ES (I. Martinez),
