Solicitation RFQ 230-0025-8, posted to the CBD on May 18, 1998, has been amended. Amendment 0001 is issued to the above combined synopsis/solicitation for boiler repair and burner controls upgrade for Kewanee boilers at Federal Correctional Institution, Sheridan, Oregon. This amendment is issued in accordance with FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only amendment of the above solicitation, offers are being requested, and a written amendment will not be issued. This amendment is issued to establish a site visit, extend the offer due date, and furnish questions and answers. (1) Addendum to 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors -- Commercial Items. The following provision is hereby incorporated into this solicitation by full text: 52.237-1 Site Visit, Offerors or quoters are urged and expected to inspect the site where services are to be performed and to satisfy themselves regarding all general and local conditions that may affect the cost of contract performance, to the extent that the information is reasonably obtainable. In no event shall failure to inspect the site constitute grounds for a claim after contract award. A site visit is scheduled for Friday, June 19, 1998, at 9:00 a.m, at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Powerhouse, 27072 Ballston Road, Sheridan, Oregon 97378. Attendees will meet at the FCI Front Lobby before proceeding to the powerhouse. Security clearances will be necessary to access the powerhouse. Therefore, those interested in attending the site visit shall contact the POC listed above no later than 3:30 p.m. on June 15, 1998 to obtain the necessary forms. (2) The offer due date is extended to 4:00 p.m., local time, on Tuesday, June 30, 1998. (3) Questions and Answers: Question No. 1: Are the four auto/manual stations to include the fuel flow measurement readings, or is that to be on the central control panel. Answer: It is required that fuel flow measurements show on the control panel. Questions No. 2: The statement "displays instantaneous and totalized fuel flow measurement" was not clear. Was it intended to say "display of instantaneous..." or "provide displays for instantaneous..."? Answer: The panel is to display instantaneous information. AMENDMENT ACKNOWLEDGMENT: Offerors must acknowledge receipt of this amendment before the hour and date specified in the synopsis/solicitation. Failure of this acknowledgment to accompany the offer may result in rejection of your offer. If as a result of this amendment you desire to change an offer already submitted, such change may be made by letter. The letter must refer to the solicitation and this amendment, and be received before offers are due. The synopsis/solicitation RFQ 230-0025-8 is amended as indicated as above. The hour and date for receipt of offers has changed, as indicated above. Except as provided herein, all other terms and conditions of RFQ 230-0025-8 remain unchanged and in full force and effect.
