plattj.jfk@navair.navy.mil, plattj.jfk@navair.navy.mil. The Department
of the Navy is formulating requirements for the design, development,
test and installation of the AN/AAR-47 Missile Warning Set (MWS) A-Kits
on the G-222 Aircraft. The U.S. Navy is the developer of the MWS and
has a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Case with the IAF for this effort.
The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to solicit
information that will aid the Navy in formulating a best value approach
to meet the requirements to design, develop, manufacture and test the
A-kits and to install the MWS on the IAF G-222. The Navy will use the
information gathered in response to this RFI to refine its planning
prior to the release of a formal Request for Proposal (RFP). An award
is planned on or about 14 January 1999. The objectives are to install
the MWS on the IAF G-222 including all engineering analysis, testing,
install support, and flight certifications. The RFI will include a
schedule for completion of the requirement and a Rough Order of
Magnitude (ROM) to complete an assessment of affordability on the scope
of work for the installation of the MWS. For items that are not priced
in your approach or are unknown at this time, please note in your
response. Note: Production quantities for the installation kit are
planned for 23 A-kits. Request vendors provide five (5) paper copies.
A page count of twenty-five (25) pages are provided as a guideline, not
a limitation. Additional pages may be submitted if necessary to
demonstrate ideas and concepts. Demonstrations of existing installs by
government or industry will not be conducted. Interested sources are
invited to review the RFI information package and provide responses.
Vendors may fax a written request for the RFI package to the
Contracting Officer, Naval Air Systems Command, AIR-2.2.1.1.2, 47123

should be construed as a request for proposal. All information
contained in the RFI is preliminary and subject to modification and is
in no way binding on the government. Questions or clarification
concerning the information package should be forwarded in writing no
later than 10 days after RFI issuance. The RFI will be released on or
about June 15, 1998. All RFI responses should be received by July 15,
