Z -- MODERNIZATION OF BUILDING 11 AND FACILITY WIDE FIRE ALARM SYSTEM, GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA SOL 1378-3K15-98 DUE 082498 POC Christina Beaulieu, Contracting Officer, 301-344-0213 Pre-Solicitation Notice -- The Contractor shall provide all material, labor, equipment and supervision, etc., necessary for the Modernization of Building 11 and the installation of a Facility Wide Firm Alarm System at the USDA, ARS, Center for Medical, Agricultural, and Veterinary Entomology located at 1600/1700 SW 23rd Drive, Gainesville, Florida 32604. The Modernization of Building 11 (approximately 54,000 gross square feet) will be accomplished in three phases. The work consists of the mechanical retrofit of HVAC and Fume Hood Exhaust Systems including the replacement of Chillers and Boiler. Minor electrical work including a new emergency power generator, asbestos abatement, handicapped accessibility upgrades, new interior finishes and roof replacement. Included in the Fire Alarm System is the installation of a public address system. The estimated price range is Between $5 million and $10 million. Completion time for the entire project is 23 months. A Pre-Bid Conference will be scheduled and held in Gainesville, Florida, on or about July 27, 1998.
