The work consists of transporting thirty-two 2'-6" high dam bulkheads and five 1'0" high dam bulkheads from the loading dock at Lock and Dam No. 2. (The 2'-6" high bulkheads weigh approx. 2 tons each and are 32 feet long and the 1' high bulkheads weigh approx. 1 ton each and are 32 feet long.) The work also consists of removing the existing paint on the downstream welds, inspect all of the welds on the downstream side of each bulkhead using Magnetic Particle Testing, repair and retest all defective welds, sandblast and paint all the bulkheads after all welds are in satisfactory condition, and return the completed bulkheads to Lock and Dam No. 2. This procurement is 100% set-aside for small business concerns. SIC Code is 3471. The small business size standard is 500 employees. The solicitation package is expected to be available approximately 17 June 1998 with quotations due on or about 1 July 1998. There is no charge for this solicitation package.
