Command Pacific proposes to contract for the drydocking and repair of
USCGC BLUEBELL (WLI 313). The BLUEBELL is homeported in Portland, OR.
All work will be performed at the contractor's facility. Contractor
must possess or have access to a facility capable of drydocking a 100
ft vessel. Major work includes, but is not limited to the following
items: Underwater Body Inspection; Ultrasonic Hull Thickness
Inspection; Tank or Accessible Void Preservation; Propulsion Shaft
Inspection and Liner Renewal; Vent Duct Cleaning; Vent Fan Overhaul;
Sea Valve Inspection; Steering Gear Maintenance; Steering Gear Motor
Overhaul; Rudder & Rudder Stock Maintenance; Cargo Hoisting Gear Level
2 Inspection; Cargo Hoist Padeyes; Swivel Davit Overhaul and Testing;
Meter Calibration; Relief Valve Testing; Underwater Body Preservation;
Buoy Deck/Port Preservation; Temporary Services; Dry Dock; Fathometer
Transducer Renewal; Fuel Tank Inspection; Potable Water Tank
Inspection; Liferaft Inspection; Liferaft Hydro Release Inspection and
Renewal; Sewage/CHT Tank Cleaning & Inspection; Propeller
Reconditioning; S/W Inlet Piping Renewal; Bilge Preservation; Urinal
Vent and Drain Modification; Rubrail Repair; Boat Davit Bushing
Renewal; Weather Deck Nonskid Removal; and Propulsion Shaft Repair.
Period of performance is 19 October -- 11 December 1998. The
solicitation will be issued pursuant to the Small Business
Competitiveness Demonstration Program. All responsible sources may
submit a proposal which will be considered by the agency. This notice
is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and
Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, The Department of Transportation
(DOT): Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU),
has a program to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged
business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance
for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT
Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide
accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
