70 -- SCALABLE VECTOR COMPUTER SOL 105-100148-98 DUE 062598 POC Contracting Officer, Mike Thomason, (256) 876-4539 The Missile and Space Intelligence Center proposes to enter into a lease with option to purchase with Silicon Graphics, Incorporated (SGI). The lease will be for an approximate period of 20 months from date of award and is pursuant to SGIs 50/50 Trade-In Program previously announced. MSIC will trade in its CRAY YMP 4E/464, SSD-128I, CCA-1, TCA-1, DCA-1, HCA-3/4, cooling unit, DE-60 without disks, workstation without disks, HP laserjet printer for the workstation, Unicos 9.0.2.5 software, C 5.0.3.0 compiler, and CF90 2.0.3.0 Fortran Compiler. Value of this trade-in is approximately $498,043 credit toward the purchase price of SGIs SV1 computer. The SV1 will be used by MSIC to enhance its mission requirements of performing computational fluid dynamics for producing missile aerodynamic data. Total payments after trade-in will be approximately $550,000. No written solicitation will be issued for this action. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. Proposals must contain detailed descriptions of the equipment being offered, prices, trade-ins credits if offered, and any special terms and conditions.
