to the CBD Synopsis/Solicitation posted on June 4, 1998 for Plastic
Pallets, Solicitation BEP-98-30(N). The pallets to be supplied shall be
manufactured using only the thermoforming process. The pallets shall
conform to the dimensions, weight requirements and design set forth in
the BEP drawing and meet the design, material, and performance
requirements and the manufacturing tolerances set forth in the
solicitation. The static load capacity requirement of 6,000 lbs. is a
constant load. A metal insert may be used to meet the defection
requirement as long as the maximum weight of the pallet does not exceed
32 lbs. The maximum deflection of the pallet must not exceed .625"
under the heaviest load. The Bureau does not currently have a racking
system for the finished product, therefore, the requirement regarding
defection of the pallet while racked in an Automatic Sorting Racking
System is removed. No additional feet maybe added to the pallet.
Offerors should acknowledge receipt of this announcement with their
