Hughes 816-426-7267, ext 229 The U.S. Dept. of Commerce, NOAA, intends to acquire the the repair of the WSR-88D Radome at Virginia Peak, Nevada and Medford, Oregon. This repair service is being acquired in support of the National Weather Service NEXRAD Operational Support Facility in Norman, OK. The Radome originally provided by the Electronic Space Systems Corporation of Concord, MA. (ESSCO). The Government intends to purchase the service of ESSCO to make repairs to the two Radomes. The Government believes that ESSCO is the only qualified repair source to make the repairs consistent and in conformance with the original design specifications. The Government does not own the specific technical data to ensure proper repair of the Radomes. The Government knows of no other qualified source. The intended procurement is for services for which the Government intends to acquire from one manufacturer under the authority of 41USC253(c)(1). Any business sources able to provide the qualified repair services on the WSR-88D ESSCO Radome are encouraged to respond to this announcement within 15 days after it's publication. Interested firms should submit in writing, their name, address, point of contact, telephone number, business size and a brief statement regarding their capability and qualifications to provide repair services on the identified equipment, and the name, telephone number, and point of contact for a businesses or other Government agency to which it has previously provided the service. This is not a request for proposals and there is no solicitation available at this time. This acquisition is being conducted pursuant to the guidelines set forth in FAR part 13. The Government reserves the right to solicit bids based on receipt of affirmative responses to this notice or issue an order to one of the sources indicated, whichever is determined to be more advantageous to the Government without further notice. The anticipated award date shall be within 30 calendar days of date of this announcement. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 7699. The small business size standard is $5 million.
