Parent, Contracting Officer, 813-828-3815x346 This notice modifies a previously submitted notice. The contractor will replace the roof at Building 49 with approximately 155,000 square feet of new structural standing seam metal roofing supported by a retrofit steel framing system constructed over the existing roof. Building 49 is primarily a shipping and receiving warehouse. The approximately 260-foot by 570-foot building is made up of several different structural systems. Roof heights across the structure vary from 15 feet to 35 feet. The existing roofing system is built-up roofing and modified bitumen with minimal slope. The new roofing system will have varying slopes from 1/2 inch to 1 inch per foot and shall include all components and appurtenances required ensuring a weathertight enclosure. New gutters, downspouts, facsias, soffits, siding, louvers and associated trim and closure profiles as necessary to complete the roof. Replace 266 lineal feet of 2-foot 9-inch high steel frame ribbon windows with aluminum louvers and aluminum frame fixed windows glazed with 1/4-inch tempered, laminated tinted glass. Work is located approximately 25 feet above the warehouse floor. Remove and relocate three roof top HVAC units. Modify roof mounted package units to pad mounted units on grade. Provide new exterior and interior ductwork and tie into existing. Provide with galvanized steel covers. Remove cement asbestos flue and roof expansion tank from existing boiler. Cap off existing roof opening. Extend existing 9 (nine)=/-inch diameter through wall vent stack 3 (three) feet above new roof deck. Extend existing 9 (nine)=/-inch diameter through wall and rotate ninety-degree elbow to vent away from building face. Extend existing plumbing stacks through new roof. Remove existing electrical circuits from roof mounted mechanical equipment. Install new circuit, wire and motor starter for new equipment. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The estimated construction performance period is 260 calendar days. The solicitation will be issued on or about 26 June 1998. The proposal closing date will be on or about 27 July 1998. The SIC code for this procurement is 1541. This procurement will be issued unrestricted. Only thirty solicitation packages will be printed with the firs five being reserved for bid-planns rooms; therefore, first come, first served. Prime general and/or roofing contractors will be given preference over suppliers and subcontractors for the remaining 25 packages, therefore, include your general or roofing contractors license number in your request, along with company name, address, phone and fax numbers, whether your company is large, small, disadvantaged or woman-owned.
