Estimated cost of construction is between $1,000,00.00 and $5,000,000.00. Work consists of work related to installation of hot water, and steam boiler systems and chilled water systems at Bell Senior High School, Terrell Junior High School, Ross Elementary School, and Roosevelt Senior High School. Asbestos abatement, and lead paint abatement work within the boiler rooms at the specified schools. Installation and demolition work associated required to install all piping and accessories relating to the boilers and chillers. New HVAC controls will be installed for all existing room mounted unitary equipment. Construction substantial completion will be 120 days. Heat, either from the installed boilers or from temporary means will be available for the entire school starting 15 October and continuing until 15 April. HVAC control work in the classrooms is required to be completed by 23 August, or must be completed on nights and weekends. Lead abatement and Asbestos abatement work is required to be completed by 23 August. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. Large Business firms are required to submit a Subcontracting Plan. The Subcontracting Plan does not have to be submitted at bid opening. The Subcontracting Plan must be submitted and approved prior to award. The Subcontracting goals are 65% for small business, 15% for small disadvantage business, and 8% for women-owned business.
