Pierce, Timothy.C.Pierce@lerc.nasa.gov. NASA Lewis Research Center is
requesting quotes for one (1) system and associated components for
liquid oxygen and liquid nitrogen service. The VJ piping and associated
components are essential in the design of an LO2 densification system.
The densification system will subcool LO2 to 120 degrees R. To
accomplish this, a multi-stage centrifugal compressor is used to reduce
the LN2 bath temperature in the second stage (of two) of an LO2-to-LN2
heat exchanger. This reduced temperature LN2, in turn, subcools the
LO2 that is pumped through the heat exchanger tube bundles. The
specifications and drawings are attached. This notice is a combined
synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with
the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional
information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the
only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written
solicitation will not be issued. This procurement is being conducted
