The Government intends to purchase on a sole source basis the following software item as manufactured and provided by Wind River Systems Inc. Under software license agreement#8965: VXWORKS PowerPC Target licenses, one lot of 500 licenses (1 lot). This software is required by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Weapon Control Systems Branch and will be used in the MK 160 Gun computer system (GCS) upgrade project which supports both AEGIS and Naval Surface Fire Support (NSFS) programs. The VXWORKS PowerPC Target licenses are required for each target system deployed with production application and VXWORKS. Each target license will allow the Government to bundle the Wind Kernel and VXWORKS operating system with every copy of its application. This bulk target license procurement will cover the PowerPC single board computer running VXWORKS operating system requirements for all AEGIS ships and for the associated land based test and development site receiving the tactical M 160 Gun Computer Program. The VXWORKS target licenses will be used and configured on board DDG 51 Class Ships. At the NSWCDD GWS Laboratory, at the Search and Track sensor test site (STSTS), at the NSWCDD (L) GWS Laboratory, at the Combat System Engineering Development Site (CSEDS), and at Wallops Island. This software must be completely compatible with existing Wind River Systems Government owned multi software tools and licenses. The continuing investment in this off-the-shelf multi software application tool further strengthens the MK160 GCS upgrade's application development and the related training efforts ensuring long term product-line compatibility and upgrade ease. Wind River Systems Inc is the sole manufacturer and provider of this software and all existing Wind River Systems software application and target licenses. This software is proprietary to Wind River Systems Inc as they are the manufacturer and only source to provide this software. Award is to be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures. All responsible sources shall provide their software specifications and license agreement with their fax quote which shall be considered by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Dahlgren, VA 22448. The contractor shall provide their Cage Code, Dunns number, Tax Identification number and a copy of their published price list with their fax.
