Contractor effort will include but not be limited to investigating and improving upon model data available from the weather centers to a resolution deemed necessary, for a more accurate representation of the atmosphere. Accomplishing this within computational constraints, the contractor shall strive for 1km or finer horizontal resolution in regions of complex surface features such as steep terrain and coastal boundaries. The output of the model will be made resident on the theater MDS to be distributed to the community and ultimately will be used in HPAC's transport and dispersion model, SCIPUFF (Second order Closure Integrated PUFF). All contractor personnel will require a DoD security clearance of SECRET. Contemplated Period of Performance is thirty-six (36) months. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered. The Request for Proposal will be released on the World Wide Web on or about 29 Jun 98.
