B -- ADDITIONAL MAINTENANCE HOURS FOR AIR VEHICLE PLANNING SYSTEM-VERSION 2 POC Sandy Bednoski, Negotiator, (703) 325-6762, Edward Archer, Contracting Officer, (703) 325-5028 The Defense Special WEapons Agency (DSWA) has a requirement to procure 5,325 additional level of effort hours under DSWA Contract Number DSWA01-97-C-0035, Air Vehicle Planning System -- Version 2. These additional maintenance hours are needed to support production reports necessary for the Single Integrated Operational Plan (SIOP) 99. DSWA plans to award a sole source modification to GDE Systems, Inc., under DSWA Contract DSWA01-97-C-0035. DSWA believes GDE Systems is the only responsible source for this effort. GDE developed the referenced database themselves. They are the only company with the necessary knowledge and experience to perform this effort within the required timelines of Sep 98. Competing this action would jeopardize the production of the SIOP and put the nation's nuclear war plan at risk for up to three years.
