M -- OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANTS SOL 98HQQQ0340 DUE 070198 POC Maggie Weber, Contracting Officer, 703/648-7392, FAX 703/648-7901 The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Patuxent Wildlife Research Center, Laurel, MD has a need for daily operation, maintenance, sampling, analysis, recording and reporting of Patuxent's wastewater treatment plants and potable water treatment/filtration plants. Patuxent operates two small sewage wastewater treatment plants under the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES permits issued by the State of Maryland, The Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE)). These permits require the package plants to be operated by a State of Maryland licensed and certified Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator. Patuxent also operates a water filtration plant supplied by deep local wells, providing potable water for use on site, with water quality maintained in accordance with the Safe Drinking Water Act. This solicitation is for one (1) year with a one-year option for a total of 24 months. This award will be 100% set-aside for Small Business.
