COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JUNE 16,1998 PSA#2117DHHS, PSC, DAM, GAB, Room 5-101, Parklawn Building, 5600 Fishers Lane,
Rockville, MD 20857 R -- GENERAL PUBLIC SURVEY FOR THE OFFICE OF NATIONAL DRUG CONTROL
POLICY SOL 282-98-0043 POC Michele Trotter, Contract Specialist, Janet
H. Miller, Contracting Officer, (301) 443-2475 E-MAIL: PROGRAM SUPPORT
CENTER, mtrotter@psc.dhhs.gov. The Program Support Center, Department
of Health and Human Services, anticipates negotiating on a sole source
basis with The Gallup Organization, Rockville, MD, a contract to
conduct a general public survey for the Office of National Drug Control
Policy. The survey will determine the perceptions of American Citizens
about the use of illegal drugs and what counter-drug actions they feel
are worthwhile. This will entail utilization of a specific statistical
sampling methodology to generate representative and comparable
estimates of public perceptions regarding a range of issues related to
the conduct of national drug control policy. These data will be
gathered using the same methodology as a 1996 poll, conducted by The
Gallup Organization, and thus will be directly comparable and will be
used to determine trends in public opinion on these topics. The
contract period will be for nine months. Offerors able to provide the
required service are invited to identify their interest and ability to
meet the requirements by submitting their qualifications/capabilities
and any other information which shows a bona fide ability to meet this
requirement. If no affirmative responses are received to determine that
a comparable source more advantageous to the Government is available,
a contract will be awarded to the above named source. No solicitation
documents exist and requests for such documents will be considered
non-responsive and not accepted. See Note 22. (0163) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0156 19980616\R-0077.SOL)
