existing North Marina breakwater is to be repaired. The construction
will consist of fabricating and installing new galvanized steel piling,
installing treated timber lagging, removing the existing timber
breakwater structure, reworking the existing toe stone, placing new
armor toe stone, and placing a stone fill to form a transition to the
existing stone breakwater. The breakwater structure is approximately
760 meters long. The construction will be in two phases from about
September 1998 to March 2000. Phase I of the work consists of
installing piling and lagging for approximately 50% of the breakwater.
Phase II consists of optional items to complete the work. Estimated
amount is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. In water work is
restricted to the period between October 1 and February 15 each year.
IFB will be available on CD ROM on or about June 29, 1998 at no cost.
Tentative bid opening date is July 29, 1998. This project is open to
both large and small businesses, the size standard for which is a
concern including affiliates, having avarage annual sales or receipts
of the proceeding three years not in excess of 17 million dollars. All
responsible sources may submit a bid, which shall be considered by the
