Vehicles are to be repowered by replacing the existing diesel engine with an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) engine of similar size, power, and torque ratings. Vehicle candidates consist of (1 each) 1992, IHC, Lift Body Truck, Model 4600, 7.3L, That requires a C8.3G Cummings CNG Replacement Engine. (2 each) 1997, Volvo, Refuse Trucks, Model WX-64, VE D7-260, That require L10-G Cummings CNG Replacement Engines. Each must have a Minimum fuel Capacity of 50 Equivalent Gallons. Repowering shall include providing and installing New CNG engines, all necessary system components, including CNG cylinders for proper drive ability performance, safety shielding, and compliance with State of California, CNG cylinder certifications, and acceptance of the repowered vehicles by the Government. The contractor shall provide training covering the installation, operation and maintenance of the repowered vehicles. Removed engines and unused components shall be returned to the Government. The Contractor shall warranty each Repowered conversion (Workmanship, equipment failures, parts and labor) for a period of 3 years or 50,000 miles, which even occurs first.
