SOLE SOURCE: The U.S. Army Systems Command (SSCOM), in conjunction with
the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), has an immediate
short- term requirement (no more than four man-months) for technical
support of the SSCOM/DARPA Landmine and Unexploded Ordanance Detection
Program. Currently, Unconventional Concepts, Incorporated UCI) of Mary
Ester, Florida, is performing other work associated with this program
under a joint SSCOM/DARPA Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) contract. The
work covered by this announcement includes: development of methodology
for verification of functionality and efficacy of the various
technologies of interest in both the field and laboratory enviroments;
data collection and analysis to include such data as environmental
impact and explosive aging data; identification and coordination with
operational (requiring) communities; and initiation and operation of
technical interchange efforts between the SSCOM/DARPA team and groups
like environmental researchers, the United Nations, and various foreign
ally agencies. Unconventional Concepts Incorporated is in a unique
position to provide this support, as they are currently in close
coordination with the SSCOM/DARPA team as result of their performance
under the aforementioned BAA contract; because of the high level of
business focus that they have on the explosives research, development,
and analysis field; and because of their ability to emplace the
requisite support for the short time frame required, within the period
of time available (a few weeks). Any company interested in responding
