The purpose of having all Contractors register through CCR is to comply with Debt Collection Improvement Act of 1996, which requires Federal Agencies to have the Taxpayer Identification Number of every Contractor and to pay every Contractor through electronic funds transfer. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Repair approximately 60 miles of railroad track, to include crosstie joint bar, and rail anchor replacement, surfacing, aligning and regauging of track, and spot rail replacement. Recondition approximately 190 turnouts, to include switchtie replacement. Reconstruct approximately 20 grade crossings. Realign track at two locations to improve curvature. Reconfigure geometry or three track crossovers, to include turnout replacement. Regrade/backfill eroded areas beneath bridge. Replace 60-inch culverts under track. Project consists of base year and two option years. Network Analysis System will be required.
