This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; offers are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This notice is being issued as a Request for Offer (RFO) for 15 Eagle-Picher 2.5 inch diameter CPV batteries, part no. RNH16-9 customized as follows: Item 1) 5 cells shall be activated with 31% KOH. 2 of these cells shall be fitted with strain gauges. Item 2)5 cells shall be activated with 26% KOH. 2 of these cells shall be fitted with strain gauges. Item 3) 5 cells shall be activated with 26% KOH and shall contain a catalyzed wall wick. 2 of these cells shall be fitted with strain gauges. Item 4) 2 sets of acceptance test data which, as a minimum, show that the 15 cells meet capacity, weight, and performance requirements. Item 5) 1 complete set of non-proprietary drawings, quality control documents and manufacturing procedures including part numbers, procedures and specifications for the 15 cells. Item 6) Complete set of cell travelers for each of the 15 cells. The provisions and clauses in the SFO are those in effect through June 1, 1998. The SIC code and the small business size standard for this procurement are 3692, 1000 employees, respectively. The offeror shall state in their offer their size status for this procurement. All qualified responsible business sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. Delivery to Lewis Research Center, Cleveland, Ohio is required within 365 days ARO. Delivery shall be FOB Destination. The DPAS rating for this procurement is DO-C9. This SFO is for Eagle Picher Industries only. Justification to permit contracting with Eagle Picher, Joplin MO has been prepared using 10U.S.C.2304(c)(1) as its authority.
