CONTRACT INFORMATION: Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 the Corps of Engineers, Alaska District, intends to award a sole source modification to USKH Inc. to perform the services described below. USKH Inc. performed the design of the A-10 Squadron Operations Facility at Eielson AFB, and therefore, has the project knowledge and understanding of the facility's mission. Construction phase services were not included in the contract at time of award. Due to the specialized nature of key portions, the Alaska District has determined that USKH would provide the best value to the Government in providing technical expertise during construction. However, if an AE is interested and believes they are capable of performing this work, they are invited to submit their letter of interest along with a description of their qualifications. All responders are advised that this project may be canceled or revised at any time during the solicitation, evaluation, negotiation and final award. Modification award is anticipated for July 98. 2. PROJECT INFORMATION: Provide construction phase services to include but not limited to design modifications for unforeseen site conditions or criteria changes, review of value engineering change proposals, site visits, review construction problems and provide technical assistance, monitor testing, provide information in response to design clarifications, and review shop drawings. Letters of interest from responding firms MUST be received at the address indicated above not later than COB (4:00 pm Alaska time) on the 30th day from the date of this announcement. If the 30th day is a Saturday, Sunday, or Federal holiday, the deadline is the close of business of the next business day. Any letters received after this date cannot be considered. No additional information shall be provided, and no faxed letters shall be accepted. Solicitation packages are not provided. A determination by the Government not to compete the requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. (0167)
