The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division anticipates award of a 5 year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract with Firm-Fixed-Price pricing arrangements for PAGER EQUIPMENT AND PAGER SERVICES. A Sources Sought Announcement was published in the 19 February 1998 Commerce Business Daily to assess industry interest and to identify standard commercial practices. A draft solicitation is now available for industry review and further comment. The draft solicitation is available over the Internet at http://www.nswc.navy.mil/supply under the Solicitation section. In order to be considered, industry comments must be in writing and must be received on or before 01 July 1998. It is anticipated that a Request for Proposal will be issued on 10 July 1998 with a requirement for proposal receipt by 10 August 1998. Award of this contract is anticipated for 01 October 1998. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division is attempting to establish an efficient and economical means for pager equipment and services for the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren and Indian Head Division laboratories which fall within the appropriate Regional Area (e.g., Dahlgren, Virginia and Indian Head, Maryland). The two Naval Surface Warfare Center locations currently employ an estimated 5,000 individuals (3,100 at Dahlgren, and 1,900 at Indian Head). The Dahlgren Division currently purchases most pager equipment, while the Indian Head Division currently leases most pager equipment; therefore, the resulting contractual vehicle must be conducive for a broad spectrum of support (lease, rental, purchase, alpha-numeric, numeric, etc.). This procurement will be processed as an Unrestricted Procurement. All responsible sources will be invited to submit a proposal for consideration. For solicitations issued after 1 June 1998, DoD will no longer award contracts to Contractors not registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) data base.
