NASA/SSC is hereby soliciting potential sources for Recompetition of Facility Operating Services (FOS) at SSC that includes Facility Engineering Services, Operation and Maintenance Services, Institutional, and Logistics Services. These broad categories of services also incorporate such representative services as Plant Engineering and Construction Services, Engineering Documentation, Pressure Systems Engineering, Utility Control Systems, Fuel Supply Systems, Fluid Component Processing Facility, Non-destructive Engineering Laboratory, Machining, Welding, Roads and Grounds, Food Services, Medical Services, Information Services, Multimedia Services, Acquisition Services, Shipping, Receiving, and Warehousing. These activities are required to support SSC's mission in rocket propulsion testing, research and development in propulsion test technologies, scientific and applied research in space technology development, utilization and commercialization programs to support NASA's strategic enterprises, particularly in the areas of earth and environmental sciences, remote sensing and data interpretation, and support to various programs of twenty-two resident agencies at SSC. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. A Draft Request for Proposal (DRFP) will be issued during the fourth quarter of Government Fiscal Year 1998. A presolicitation synopsis will be issued prior to issuance of the DRFP. The contracting technique for the recompetition will be Performance-Based Contracting. There will be significant subcontracting opportunities.
