Edwards AFB, CA has an immediate need for a qualified Nurse Health Educator for Community Health Education service to Government beneficiaries. Contractor is to provide care at the Edwards Air Force Base hospital and Health and Wellness Center (HAWC) to consist of but is not limited to assessing, planning, directing, implementing, evaluating, and coordinating health and wellness education and training programs. Contractor care shall cover the range of services provided in a civilian medical treatment facility. Performance shall be according to the requirements contained in the Performance Work Statement (PWS) which will be issued at time of solicitation, and professional standards of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization (JCAHO). All interested parties must possess a Bachelor's degree in health education, health sciences, nursing with concentration in community health, adult education or related field from an accredited four-year college or university. A Master's degree in health education, health promotion, or public health with specialization in health education is not required, but is desirable. Each applicant must be able to provide a valid, current state nursing license and be certified by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. as a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES). Each applicant must also be able to pass a criminal background check. This acquisition is 100% set-aside for small business. The SIC code is 8049, size standard is $5 million. Period of performance will be from time of award until 30 September 1999. The anticipated solicitation issue date is 23 June 98. Telephone requests will not be honored.
