R -- PROSPECTUS FOR VISION SCREENING IN THE PRESCHOOL CHILD AND NAT'L INVITATION MEETING SOL 98-mchb-37A(KL) DUE 071098 POC Kimberly Lewis (301)443-4540 The Health Resources and Services Administration intends to negotiate on a SOLE SOURCE basis with the Vision Research Laboratory, The Lighthouse, Inc., 111 East 59th Street, New York, NY 10022. This procurement shall be processed in accordance with the Simplified Acquisition Procedures of Part 13 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations. The purpose of this purchase order is to prepare a prospectus for vision screening in the preschool child and by planning and convening a two-day national, invitational meeting to explore the objectives outlined in the prospectus. The contractor shall prepare position papers that would specifically detail the types of vision screening programs that should be integrated into the health care system, as well as a proposal for the optimal methods for implementing this program. The contractor shall organize, facilitate, document all presentations, and provide all logistical arrangements. The period of performance for this project is 6 months. Vision Research Laboratory, The Lighthouse Inc., is deemed the only responsible source capable of providing the required work and services.
