This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; bids are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. 17(ii) Solicitation number is DAKF29-98-B-0038 and is issued as an Invitation For Bid (IFB). 17(iii) The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-03. 17(iv) This acquisition is 100% Set-Aside for Small Business. Standard Industrial Classification Code (SIC) is 7381 and Small Business Size Standard is $9,000,000.00. 17(v)(vi)(vii) The Contract line item Numbers (CLINS) are Contractor shall provide Guard II security guard services at the Barnes Building Complex, 495 Summer Street, Boston, MA 0001- for the period of 1 Aug 1998 through 30 Sep 1998. 0002- for the period of 1 Oct 1998 through 31 Jul 1999. 0003- (Option I) for the period of 1 Aug 1999 through 31 Jul 2000. 0004- (Option II) for the period of 1 Aug 2000 through 31 Jul 2001. 0005- (Option III) for the period of 1 Aug 2001 through 31 Jul 2002. 0006- (Option IV) for the period of 1 Aug 2002 through 31 Jul 2003. 17(viii) The provisions at FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offeror -- Commercial Items, with addenda: delete paragraphs (d), (e), (h) and (i). 17(ix) The basis of award will be low, responsive, responsible bidder. FAR clause 52.217-9 Option to Extend the Term of the Contract -"(a) The Government may extend the term of this contract by written notice to the Contractor within prior to contract expiration; provided, that the Government shall give the Contractor a preliminary written notice of its intent to extend at least 60 days before the contract expires. The preliminary notice does not commit the Government to an extension. (b) If the Government exercises this option, the extended contract shall be considered to include this option provision. (c) The total duration of this contract, including the exercise of any options under this clause shall not exceed 66 months."
