The project scope includes construction of a 1,630 gross square foot building to be used for staff offices and dog kennels. Building will contain a trainer/handler room, exam room, staff lavatory and kitchen. Six kennels for housing base guard dogs with support areas including dog wash, tack room, and mechanical, electrical, and janitor rooms are required. Specifications and plans also require an adjacent fenced dog run and a 7 vehicle paved-parking lot. Work will include: exterior sidewalk, concrete foundations, concrete slab-on-grade, steel joist roof framing and steel deck, 6-ply built-up asphalt roof on rigid insulation with internal roof drains and overflow scupper system, prefinished concrete masonry unit exterior bearing walls, aluminum windows with insulated glass, gypsum wall board systems, painting of gypsum wall board and concrete block, structural glazed concrete block, wood trim, carpeting, vinyl composition tile, ceramic tile, sheet vinyl, suspended acoustical ceilings, two gas fired furnaces with ducted supply, gas fired water heaters with solar powered preheat, new air conditiong unit, and suspended lighting fixtures. The contractor shall furnish all plant, labor, equipment, materials and supervision required to perform all operations in connection with this project listed under SIC 1542. Solicitations wil be available approximately 7 Jul 98, and the site visit will be announced in the solicitation documents. The approximate bid opening date is 6 Aug 98. The estimated construction period is 270 calendar days for an estimated completion date of 2 Jul 99. The estimated construction cost range is $250,000 to $500,000. It is estimated a firm-fixed price contract will be awarded as a result of this soliciation. There is no charge for this soliciation package; however, the package will be limited to one set per bidder and will be issued on a first come first serve basis as the numberof copies is limited. Request for bid documents must be in writing. Telephone requests will not be accepted. The return address must be a street address and not a post office box. Copies of this soliciation will be distributed to various plans rooms throughout Colorado.
