Sea Systems Command intends to award a sole source contract to York
International Corporation, York Marine Systems, P. O. Box 1592, York,
PA 17405-1592, for the procurement of: four (4) 150 Ton CFC Air
Conditioning Plant conversion kits and two (2) 125 Ton CFC Air
Conditioning Plant conversion kits; with Auxiliary Components;
Installation and Checkout Spares; Technical Data; Administrative Data;
up to (25) eight hour mandays of Engineering Services; Support;
Selected Repair Parts; Provisioning Technical Documentation and
Provisioned Item Order with options for up to (7) 125 Ton CFC Air
Conditioning Plant conversion kits; (21) 150 Ton CFC Air Conditioning
Plant conversion kits and (25) 300 Ton CFC Air Conditioning Plant
conversion kits. The options will also include 236fa Compressors;
Auxiliary Components; Installation and Checkout Spares; Engineering
Services, Support and Selected Repair Parts. This procurement is being
directed sole source to York, because the Air Conditioning Plants that
are being converted by these conversion kits were originally
manufactured by York. Once the conversion kits are installed within the
A/C plant, it must meet or exceed all existing shipboard A/C plant
performance requirements. York, as the sole designer of the 125, 150
and 300 Ton air conditioning units and owner of the unlimited rights in
technical data for the compressor components of the centrifugal air
conditioning units, is the only firm that can meet the required
delivery schedule for the surface ships scheduled to be upgraded by
