This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format provided in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included within this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a written solicitation will not be issued. Refer to solicitation as RFP No. N00140-98-R-2831. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-04. This office intends to award a Firm, Fixed Price contract for the purpose of the supply, installation, and maintenance of a keyless entry system for the USS Theodore Roosevelt. Installation is required 30 days after award. CLIN 0001, ITEM: Keyless Lock System, Access Cards, Cleaning Cards, System Software and Hardware, QTY: 1 Lot CLIN 0002, ITEM: Installation of keyless lock system and one day training course. QTY: 1 Lot Unique features which the procured lock system must contain: 1. S! ecurity-(a) Deadbolt must be able to be projected from the inside or outside of the door. (b) Locks must be able to be rekeyed in seconds to prevent the use of lost cards.(c) Locks must be able to be set for specific activation dates. 2. Accountability-(a) Operators can be assigned various independent levels of access to system functions. (b) Require 65,000 locks per system. 3. ADP-(a) Operating system must be Windows 95/NT compatible and be LAN based for multiple PC access. 4. Service and Maintenance-(a) Contractor must be available to provide rapid, 24 hour, technical support. FAR 52.212-1 is applicable. NOTE TO OFFEROR: A statement complying with Paragraph (b)(11) of this clause must be included in the offer. FAR 52.212-2 is also applicable.
