structure, approximately 35,015 millimeters in height, with the area
consisting of approximately 747.86 gross square meters. The proposed
air traffic control tower will be constructed on East A Street at the
site of existing Building 212. The demolition of Building 212, as well
as the partial demolition of Building 120 is included in scope of work
for this project. Asbestos containing material identified in Building
212 and 120 will be removed by separate contract. Construction of the
control tower consists of exposed cast-in-place structural concrete,
structural steel, brick veneer panels, metal studs, gypsum board,
paint, carpet, vinyl wall covering, vinyl base, acoustical tile,
glazing, HVAC, and electrical. Construction phasing is required.
Estimated magnitude of work is between $2,500,000 and $5,000,000. Issue
date for solicitation will be on or about July 9, 1998 at no charge for
the electronic bid sets. This solicittation will be issued on
electronic bid sets only; hard copies will not be available.
Solicitation electronic bid set will be made available upon written
request mailed to Contracting Division at the above address. In order
to receive documents in a timely manner, requests should be received by
July 1, 1998. Bid opening date will be on or about August 11, 1998 at
2:00 p.m. This proposed procurement is unrestricted. SIC: 1542. If a
subcontracting plan is required, the following minimum subcontracting
goals for the Little Rock District will be applicable: 55% of the
contractor's total intended subcontracted amount be placed with Small
Businesses (including small disadvantaged and woman-owned businesses);
8.5% of the total subcontracted amount be placed with small
disadvantaged businesses, 3% of the total subcontracted amount be
placed with woman-owned businesses; and 5.5% of the total subcontracted
amount be placed with historically black colleges or
