For additional information, contact Kari Stieglitz, Code 02W1.6K (202) 685-1272 Fleet and Industrial Supply Center (FISC) Norfolk Detachment Washington has a requirement to procure an Abrasive Water Jet Cutting System for the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. (I) A list of the Contract Line Item Numbers and their items are as follows: CLIN 0001: Abrasive Water Jet Cutting System, Photo Optical and Computer Numerical Controlled, Quantity 1 EA; CLIN 0002: Data for item 0001, Quantity: Lot; CLIN 0003: Installation of the equipment, Quantity: Lot; CLIN 0004: On-Site Training for Personnel, Quantity: Lot; CLIN 0005: Option to purchase spare parts for CLIN 0001. (ii) DELIVERY: Delivery shall be made to: Receiving Officer, Pearl Harbor Shipyard (N00311), Pearl Harbor, HI 96860, M/F: Shop 11, Project P003-98. (iii) SPECIFICATIONS: (a) This shall be a COMMERCIAL ITEM. The equipment shall be one of the manufacturer's current production models which, on the date the solicitation is issued, has been designed, engineered and sold, or is being offered for sale through advertisements or manufacturer's published catalogs or brochures. Products such as a prototype unit, preproduction model, or experimental unit do not qualify as meeting this requirement. (b) INSTALLATION (CLIN 0003): The contractor shall provide a full time field supervisor to direct the installation and testing of the system from the start of installation to acceptance of the system. The contractor shall provide all lifting and transport equipment. The receiving activity shall provide a machine foundation, and crane service upon 24-hour notice. Riggers, rigging and slings shall be provided by the contractor. (c) ON-SITE TRAINING (CLIN 0004): Upon completion of installation of the equipment, the services of a qualified representative(s) shall be provided. Training shall be provided to the following personnel: Operators, Programmers, Maintenance (Mechanical/Hydraulic), and Maintenance (Electrical/Electronic). (v) PREPROPOSAL SITE VISIT: In order to familiarize prospective offerors with conditions at the intended installation site, a pre-proposal site visit will be conducted. Interested parties are encouraged to attend. Failure to attend will not be cause for future claims arising due to unfamiliarity with conditions prevailing at the time of the pre-proposal site visit. Incomplete proposals received due to an offeror's failure to attend shall not be considered. No other visits to the site shall be permitted. Mayer, Code 913.2, (808) 471-1302 not less than 5 days in advance of the planned date to advise the name, social security number, date and place of birth, and citizenship of persons expected to attend as well as the firms that these persons will represent. All visitors shall have picture identification and proof of U.S. citizenship. All arrangements for site visit attendance shall be made through both Ms. Kari Stieglitz and Mr. Donald P. Mayer. The site visit will be conducted at : Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, Pearl Harbor, HI, on 22 July 1998 at 9:00 a.m. This will be a 100% Small Business Set-Aside.
