synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with
the format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional
information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the
only Request for Quote that will be issued, quotations are being
requested and a written RFQ will not be issued. This request is issued
under RFQ DACW62-98-Q-0036. BID SCHEDULE -- The bid schedule is as
follows: Item No. 0001 1 EA Front-end Loader, Unit Price__________
Total Amount___________. SPECIFICATIONS: Item shall be a "skid-steer"
type, diesel powered, utilizing Kevlar-reinforced rubber tracks. Engine
shall have a minimum rating of 75 horsepower. Item shall be equipped
with a hydraulically-operated loader. Loader shall have a lift height
to hinge pin rating of no less than 110 inches. Loader shall have a
positive mechanical locking device to lock loader arms in the raised
position. Loader shall have rated tipping load of no less than 5000
pounds and a minimum breakout force of 5000 pounds. A loader bucket
with a minimum capacity of 5/8 cubic yard shall be provided with the
loader. Item shall be equipped with engine instrumentation that is
clearly visible from the operators seat. Instrumentation shall
minimally include Fuel Level, Engine RPM, Water Temperature, Hour
Meter, Engine Oil Pressure, and Amp gauges, in addition to a Hot
Hydraulic Oil light. Delivery is required by 30 August, 1998.
Inspection and acceptance will be at destination. The solicitation
document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect
through the Federal Acquisition Circular No. 97-04, 24 April, 1998. The

YEAR 2000 COMPLIANCE -- Any IT included in equipment must be year 2000
compliant. All quotations must include 1.) Unit and extended price for
the Front-end Loader and 2.) A complete copy of the provisions at FAR
52.212-3, Representations and Certifications -- Commercial Items.
Quotations in response to this synopsis/Request For Quotation are due
NLT 1600 HRS, 06 July 1998. Quotes should include solicitation number,
company name, address, telephone number and point of contact. This
acquisition is unrestricted. The Standard Industrial Classification
Code is 3531. The size standard is 750 employees. Response to this
