This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is CPSC-Q-98-5152 and is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-04. This solicitation is issued on an unrestricted basis. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code is 3826; small business size standard is 500 employees. The CPSC requires a spectrometer system for use in its Division of Chemistry for chemical analysis. The offeror shall specify if the information technology that will be provided under this solicitation is Year 2000 compliant. The following FAR provisions apply to this acquisition: FAR 52.212- 1, Instructions to Offerors -- Commercial Items, and FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications -- Commercial Items. Delivery is desired no later than 60 days after receipt of order. Quotations shall be proposed based on F.O.B. destination to Gaithersburg, Maryland. Quotations are due no later than July 7, 1998 by 4:30 p.m., EDT. The CPSC intends to make a single award to the responsible offeror whose quotation conforms to all requirements of the solicitation and is considered to be the best value to the Government.
