Prisons (BOP) hereby gives notice of its intent to issue a sole source
purchase order to NETPro Computing Inc., 7150 E. Camelback Road,
Scottsdale, AZ 85251 to provide a commercially available "Proactive
Monitoring System" to the Bureau of Prisons Group Wise E-Mail system,
which provides BOP E-Mail to app. 100 Federal Prisons nation-wide. This
proactive monitoring system must work with all versions of GroupWise,
from Word Perfect Office 4.0a to GroupWise 5.x and run as a NetWare
NLM. Must monitor entire GroupWise system proactively, in real time,
including primary, secondary and external domains, as well as message,
administrative and post office servers. Must monitor message flow
through a mail-ping system that works both inside and outside the
organization. Must view entire GroupWise System from a single console.
Must transmit critical status messages via SNMP to ManageWise or any
SNMP-compliant management console. Must dispatch trouble messages
instantly via E-Mail, alpha pageror Novell Send command. Must monitor
GroupWise on all platforms, including NetWare, NT, VINES, OS/2,
PathWorks and LAN Manager. Must eliminate downtime by continually
ensuring the health and integrity of post office databases and
corresponding mail boxes. It must be adaptable to the network
monitoring needs of businesses of all sizes. It must allow
administrators to set custom alert thresholds based upon individual
systems, including mail route time. It must prevent loss or delay vital
messages, ensure optimal productivity and up-time and provide
step-by-step procedures for repair and optimization through a
comprehensive knowledge base. It must facilitate future problems
resolution with custom notes for any object or alert. Must provide
mail-route statistical information, identify trends to maximize network
performance and efficiency and furnish critical diagnostic help through
a knowledge base system. Must assist in planning of GroupWise upgrades
and installations, help with ongoing modifications to GroupWise
environments and ability to provide immediate telephone technical
support, software updates, bug fixes, and new releases of this
products. Must continue supporting of the product for future upgrades
and changes to the Novell GroupWise system. No solicitation document
exists. Prospective interested firms should submit cost and technical
data to be evaluated. Interested firms must indicate their ability to
satisfy the requirement within 15 days of the notice. Interested firms
will be considered only if they are capable of meeting or exceeding
the requirements stated herein at a cost efficiently more advantageous
than the contractor named. If no response is received within 15 days
of this announcement, an award will be made to NETPro Computing Inc.
