Hansen, Contracting Officer, 530-478-6122, FAX 530-478-6126 The intent of this contract is to secure services for precommercially thinning trees within plantation boundaries. Thinning shall exist of selecting leave trees and masticating all other trees and brush except designated trees and in a manner that does not damage leave trees. The equipment shall be of a low ground pressure type, weight shall not exceed 16 tons gross, ground pressure shall not exceed a maximum of 6 psi, width maximum shall not exceed 10 feet, pivot operator cab, engine, and attachment arm shall be able to swing 270 degrees while the working base remains stationary, and reach attachment arm shall have a minimum reach of 25 feet. Machine shall be equipped with a rotating disk. The work is located on the Downieville Ranger District and consists of 49 acres. Estimated start work date 091098, contract time 57 days.
