COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JUNE 23,1998 PSA#2122TANK COATINGS WITHIN THE SOUTHERN DIVISION AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
Please be advised that it is the intent that projects within the
Southern Division, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Area of
Responsibility (SC, NC, FL, GA, AL, TN, MS, LA, TX, OK, AK, KY, MO, KS,
CO, WY, NE, IN, IL, OH, MI, WI, MN, ND, AND SD) that involve
aboveground petroleum storage tanks and piping that are advertised,
subsequent to October 01, 1998, will require that any contractor or
subcontractor engaged in surface preparation and coating applications
be certified under Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) SSPC-QP1. In
addition, if the removal of lead paint is required on aboveground
petroleum storage tanks and piping, the contractor or subcontractor
shall be required to be certified by the Society for Protective
Coatings (SSPC) under SSPC-QP2. Interested parties may comment on this
