X -- CONFERENCE LOCATION DUE 072898 POC Millie Pugliese,Contracting Officer, Tel. 703-875-5816 The U.S. Department of State is seeking information on a suitable location to orchestrate administrative arrangements in support of a conference for approximately 2,500 participants from over 135 countries. Some basic requirements are as follows: length of conference: 1 week; date: early December or late November, 1999; space: several committee rooms for 300-500 people and a main plenary room that will seat at least 2,500. We will also require office space for 130 country delegations. Capabilities: (a) simultaneous interpretation in 8 languages; (b) recording capabilities in committee rooms; (c) electrical connection sufficient for a wide range of computer and reproduction equipment; (d) printing facilities in the immediate vicinity; (e) extensive lines of phone/FAX usage; (f) convenient access from abroad for international travelers; and (g) an abundance of reasonably priced hotel accommodations in the immediate area.
