The building is on piers with a reinforced concrete suspended slab. The project has concrete paved areas, landscaping, fences, exterior/interior electrical work, HVAC systems, structural steel, a Postal store and Postal specialties, two separate CCTV camera systems and other work required for a Postal facility, in accordance with the plans and specifications. The project also requires demolition of existing structure on the site. Site is located at Lamar, 34th Street, 37th Street, and Owens Circle in Austin (formerly known as Sid's Restaurant). Estimated cost range $2,500,000 -- $2,600,000 and construction time is 300 calendar days. Successful offeror must submit their Subcontracting Plan for Small and Minority-Owned, and Woman-Owned Business initially and thereafter with their progress payment requests. The contractor must subcontract with minority business firmsin an amount aggregating not less than 10% of the total value of its subcontracts. Offeror must provide, at time offer is due, documentation from bonding agent stating offeror's bonding capability. The successful contractor will be required to provide 100% Performance and 50% Payment Bonds within forty-eight (48) hours after notification of award. Offers will be received in this office, prior to, but not later than 3:30 p.m. on July 23, 1998. Proposal documents, plans and specifications will be available on June 23, 1998 at a cost of $150.00 per set (NON-REFUNDABLE) payable by check or money order only.
