notice modifies a previously submitted notice (#201337) dated 18 May
1998. Subject: Z -- Replace Aircraft Parking Apron. SOL NBR:
FA4416-98-R0022 is modified as follows: ESTIMATED ISSUE DATE: The date
the solicitation documents are being issued is changed from "11 June
1998" to "10 July 1998". The estimated proposal closing date is changed
to "10 August 1998". ESTIMATED COST RANGE: The estimated cost range is
increased from "$1,000,000.00 to $5,000,000.00" to "Between
$5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00". ADD THE FOLLOWING PROJECT OPTION TO
THIS SOLICITATION: "OPTIONAL PROJECT AJXF 92-1548D". While funds are
not presently available within Air Mobility Command to fund Optional
Project AJXF 92-1548D, we anticipate funds will become available by 16
November 1998. If current fiscal year (FY 98) funds become available,
contract award will be made no later than 30 September 1998. If FY 98
funds are not available, this project will be funded with FY 99 funds.
We expect to have FY 99 funding by 16 November 1998. Optional Project
AJXF 92-1548D consists of providing all plant, labor, equipment, and
materials and performing all work to provide replacement of an
additional portion of the west aircraft parking apron at Andrews Air
Force Base, Maryland. The work includes but is not limited to: Provide
engineering and laboratory testing services; removal of material which
includes concrete, base and subgrade to a depth of twenty-six inches as
shown on the drawings; provide a new crushed stone base course of six
inch thickness and a six inch thick asphalt stabilized drainage layer
under the new pavement; provide a new fourteen inch thick Portland
cement concrete pavement; provide new pavement markings on the new
pavement; provide subgrade undercut; provide new asphalt transition
between new and existing pavement to remain; provide contaminated soil
removal, as specified; recompact subgrade. Should Optional Project
AJXF 92-1548D be awarded, the total contract performance period will be
changed from "365 calendar days"to "730 calendar days"." Because we are
adding Optional Project AJXF 92-1548D to this solicitation, WE ARE
REQUESTING ALL INTERESTED PROPOSERS RESUBMIT THEIR REQUEST FOR PLANS
AND SPECIFICATIONS. Requests for plans and specifications must be sent
via facsimile to (301) 981-1912 or by written request to 89 CONS/LGCC,
1419 Menoher Drive, Andrews AFB, MD 20762-6500. No telephone requests
for the solicitation package will be accepted. Please forward requests
for plans and specifications no later than 2 July 1998. Provide your
firm's name, address, telephone and facsimile numbers, point of
contact, and E-Mail address, if available. Due to limited supply, bid
packages will be furnished on a first come, first serve basis, one set
per requester. Requests received after 2 Jluly 1998 may not be filled.
Requests for plan holders lists and/or technical questions regarding
the solicitation must be in writing and received no later than ten (10)
days prior to proposal closing, to ensure proper and timely responses.
This notice does not obligate the Government to award a contract, it
does not restrict the Government in its ultimate acquisition approach,
nor does it obligate the Government to pay for any bid/proposal
preparation costs. All contractors must be registered in the Central
Contractor Registration (CCR) to be considered for award of a Federal
contract. Failure to register in the DOD CCR database may render your
firm ineligible for award. All other provisions remain the same.
