NASA/SSC intends to issue a Request for Offer (RFO) for procurement of an addition to the Administration Building 1100 at the Stennis Space Center, MS. This project consists of construction of a three (3) story office building addition of approximately 68,500 square feet (6,120 square meters). The construction consists of auger cast concrete piles, pile caps, concrete grade beams and concrete slabs. The super structure is steel columns, steel beams and bar joists with exterior cladding of pre-cast concrete panels, double glazed windows with blue tint and spandrel glass at column points, approximately fifty (50) percent of the windows are operable. The interior finishes consist of vinyl clad gypsum wall board on metal studs, 2 feet by 2 feet suspended ceilings, carpeting and ceramic tile in the wet areas. Electrical service will require underground duct banks, transformer (13.8KV primary), distribution panels and field wiring to all devices/lights. The mechanical system consists of enhancing the existing chill water plant, distribution piping, and air handling equipment (HVAC-chill and hot water), VAV dual duct system, electronic controls and instrumentation. Plumbing consists of normal rest room configuration, drinking fountains, and showers. Also included are three (3) hydraulic elevators (two, three levels and one four levels). All construction shall be in accordance with the contract Specification and Drawings, constructed to Southern Standard Building Codes, NFPA, Life Safety Code and ADA. All work shall be completed in twenty (20) months after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. The complete solicitation package (RFO, Model Contract, Specification and Drawings) will be provided on a Compact Disk in Auto CADD format to those firms requesting a copy. Local Trade Journals will be provided a hard copy of the complete solicitation package. The solicitation (RFO and Model Contract) will be released via the NASA Acquisition Internet Services (NAIS). Hard copies of the complete solicitation package will not be provided. It is the responsibility of each offeror to monitor NAIS for solicitation releases as the solicitation will be released as soon as practicable whether prior or subsequent to July 6, 1998. This procurement is 100% set-aside for Small Business Concerns. The Government's estimated price range is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. The SIC Code is 1542 with a Size Standard of $17M.
